Job Summary

ALRA Engineers, P.C. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee financial operations related to payables and receivables. The successful candidate will ensure accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting while maintaining financial integrity through strong internal controls and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate across departments and contribute to financial planning and vendor/supplier relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:

  • Process invoices, payments, and adjustments accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes in alignment with company policies and standards.
  • Monitor and manage the organization’s billing system for timely and accurate invoicing and collections.

2. Procedure Development and Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain robust accounts payable procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and reporting requirements for awarded contracts and programs.

3. Reconciliation and Records Management:

  • Reconcile processed transactions by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Maintain organized historical financial records for audit and reference purposes.
  • Safeguard confidential financial information to protect the organization's value.

4. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Track, report, and analyze budget project variances to support financial decision-making.
  • Prepare comprehensive month-end reports, including accounts receivable and payable summaries.

5. Performance Monitoring and Collaboration:

  • Monitor financial program performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accurate financial operations and reporting.

6. Leadership and Oversight:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to accounts payable and receivable staff.
  • Maintain high performance and adherence to policies.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Deltek Ajera accounting software is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable and receivable management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent deadline management, analytical, and research skills.
