ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Samford Universitys School of Health Professions seeks a collaborative faculty member interested in serving in a Christian university environment to apply for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. This full-time faculty position is a 12-month on-campus appointment and will begin during Spring 2026.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold an academic degree (i.e., Ph.D. or Ed.D.) or clinical degree (M.S., M.A., or SLP-D) in speech-language pathology from a CAA-accredited program. Applicants who hold a terminal academic degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D.) will be considered for a tenure-track appointment. Candidates without a terminalacademicdegree may be considered for a non-tenure-track position. A clinical doctorate is not considered a terminal academic degree.
Rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. To be considered at the rank of Associate Professor, the candidate must demonstrate a strong record of high-quality publications in peer-reviewed journals, and evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring students.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate academic excellence in Speech-Language Pathology through scholarly activity, successful teaching experience, grant funding, and active research and/or clinical engagement. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Phonology, fluency, cleft-lip and palate, or augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Experience with academic teaching is preferred.
