Position Title: Associate Pastor

Status: Full time

Salary: $35,000 annual salary, PTO

Reports to: Sr. Pastor

Supervises: Volunteer Youth Ministry & Children’s Ministry Staff

Position Summary:

Develop and maintain healthy, dynamic youth and children’s ministries that encourage the youth and children to build a growing relationship with Jesus, each other, and the Church.

Responsibilities:

• Youth (approx. 2/3 FTE): Develop and lead DFBC’s ministry to youth, including youth group and Sunday School
  • Recruit, supervise & train volunteers to assist in the DFBC youth ministry
  • Develop healthy relationships with youth grade 6-12 both inside and outside of the church
  • Work w/ Sr. Pastor and Elders to integrate the DFBC youth ministry into the larger ministry of the church
• Children (approx. 1/3 FTE): Develop and oversee DFBC’s children’s ministries, including Sunday School, Jr. Church, AWANA, and VBS
  • Recruit, supervise & train volunteers to assist in the DFBC children’s ministries
• Prepare, submit and administer annual youth & children’s ministry goals and budget
• Regular participation in worship services (including occasional preaching)
• Additional duties as assigned by Sr. Pastor

Qualifications:

• Committed follower of Jesus Christ who demonstrates the character qualities of spiritual leaders as outlined in 1 Timothy 3
• Love for youth inside and outside of the church and a desire to see them develop healthy relationships with Jesus Christ, each other, and the Church
• Agrees to the Statement of Faith, Teaching Positions and Constitution of DFBC and is willing to become a member of DFBC
• Training and experience in youth ministry is strongly preferred
