Job Description

This role combines the traditional duties of an Internet Sales Manager with the modern demands of social media management and brand reputation. The ideal candidate is a hybrid digital marketing and internet sales manager who can drive online leads, manage internet-based sales processes, and cultivate an engaging online community for the dealership.

Position summary

The Automotive Internet and Social Media Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all digital channels to increase sales, build brand loyalty, and enhance the dealership's online reputation. This role is a combination of sales, marketing, and customer service, requiring a balance of data analysis, creative content production, and relationship management.

Responsibilities and duties Internet sales management:

  • Lead generation and conversion: Manage all internet leads from the dealership's website, third-party sites, and online advertising.
  • Customer communication: Respond promptly and professionally to all customer inquiries via email, phone, text, and chat.
  • Appointment setting: Convert online leads into showroom appointments, managing the process from initial contact to the test drive.
  • CRM management: Utilize the dealership's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track, monitor, and follow up with all internet leads.
  • Online promotions: Coordinate internet and sales promotions with other dealership advertising.
  • Website maintenance: Work with the webmaster to ensure the dealership website is up-to-date with current inventory, specials, and photos.
  • Training and oversight: Train and monitor internet sales staff to ensure they are meeting dealership standards for lead response time and sales processes.

Social media management and digital marketing:

  • Content strategy: Develop and execute a social media content strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Content creation: Create and publish engaging content, including images, videos, and written posts, for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Community engagement: Monitor all social media channels, engage with followers, and respond to comments and questions in a timely manner.
  • Reputation management: Manage the dealership's online reputation by monitoring customer comments and feedback on social media and review sites.
  • Paid advertising: Design, create, and manage social media advertising campaigns to generate leads and drive traffic.
  • Performance analysis: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) like engagement, lead conversions, and ad performance, reporting results to management.
  • Trend monitoring: Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices to keep the dealership's digital presence current and competitive.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Proven experience in automotive sales, internet sales, or digital marketing.
  • Expertise in managing and creating content for various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube).
  • Experience using a dealership CRM system.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools like Google Analytics and social media management platforms.
  • Creative content creation skills, including basic photography and videography.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze performance metrics and adjust strategies.
  • Knowledge of automotive trends and passion for the industry.
  • Valid driver's license.
