Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper & Cashier Team Lead to manage both the financial records and front-of-store cashier operations at our beauty retail store. This dual-role position is ideal for someone with a strong background in bookkeeping who also excels in team leadership and customer service. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records while leading the cashier team, managing schedules, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping Duties:

  • Record daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, and returns.
  • Maintain and update general ledgers, journals, and financial records.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills and customer invoices.
  • Reconcile daily sales, POS reports, credit card transactions, and bank statements.
  • Prepare basic financial reports such as sales summaries and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations.
  • Assist with tax preparation, audits, and year-end financial closings.
  • Collaborate with store managers and external accountants for monthly reviews.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and business data.

Cashier Team Lead Duties:

  • Supervise and support cashier staff to ensure smooth front-end operations.
  • Create and manage cashier schedules to align with store hours and traffic.
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to cashier team members.
  • Monitor and manage customer service standards at the checkout area.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure all cash handling procedures are followed and registers are balanced daily.
  • Promote a positive and customer-friendly environment on the sales floor.

Qualifications:

  • Proven bookkeeping and team leadership experience (retail experience strongly preferred).
  • Experience using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and POS systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong leadership and customer service abilities.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment:

  • On-site role at the beauty retail store or office.
  • May require weekend or end-of-month availability.
  • Fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Collaborative position working with store management and external accountants.
