About the Role
The Company is seeking a Market Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join their team. The CMO will be a key leader in the organization, responsible for the overall market clinical and population health strategy and operations. This role involves working closely with the plan market president, and other clinical and population health leaders to ensure the execution of all clinical, population health, and quality initiatives. The CMO will also be accountable for population health management strategy, quality, and total cost of care initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a clinical executive with a strong background in advancing clinical excellence and the delivery of cost and operationally efficient care. Candidates for the Market CMO position must be MD or DO, board-certified, and have a current, unrestricted medical license. A minimum of 5 years of practice experience in their medical specialty, along with 5 years of progressive medical leadership and management experience, is required. The CMO will be expected to be a market thought leader, interacting with various stakeholders to guide strategic initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. Experience in managed care organization leadership, particularly in a Medical Director or CMO role, is preferred. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading clinical, quality, and business leaders, and be adept at using data analysis to drive medical cost trend and quality improvement. Strong communication, analytical, and population health skills are essential, as is the ability to make strategic decisions and effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
