The department of Psychiatry has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator to work on the UHealth campus. The Clinical Research Coordinator 1 serves as an entry level clinical research professional that has a basic foundation in clinical research through assigned responsibilities in data management or implementing clinical research protocols. This role exhibits increased learned skills and flexibility in performing duties and assumes responsibility for simple clinical research protocols and timelines. The Clinical Research Coordinator 1 (CRC 1) will report directly to the Project Manager and serve as the primary point of contact for several PI-initiated studies and sponsored clinical trials. This position requires a proactive and organized individual who is committed to upholding the University’s core values while contributing to the successful execution of research projects. Core job functions include performing chart review/pre-screening activities for study participant eligibility and coordination of simple clinical research protocols; maintaining enrollment procedures according to the protocol; coordinating routine activities of clinical studies including data collection and maintenance, planning study timelines, scheduling appointments and study visits, meeting scheduling, and project evaluation; performing moderate to complex research tests/experiments and adapting procedures for quality improvement under supervision; understanding and following technical instructions for operating clinical research equipment and problem solving operational failures; assisting in observing and informing the PI/supervisor of adverse events; addressing adverse events per protocol; identifying, reporting, and helping problem solve protocol deviations and unanticipated occurrences; following fundamental requirements of regulatory bodies; maintaining study-specific clinical research regulatory binders; maintaining requisite skills and mandatory training; adhering to University policies and safeguarding assets. Department specific functions include community engagement and recruitment, study coordination and management, operational support and communication. The role requires flexibility including working evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
