Cost Accountant

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, WA
Contract Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: Competitive market rate (Estimated range: $80,000–$100,000 annually DOE)

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Cost Accountant for a hybrid contract-to-hire opportunity in Seattle, WA . This position is ideal for an analytical accounting professional with strong attention to detail and a passion for operational excellence. The Cost Accountant will play a key role in analyzing production costs, monitoring inventory, and ensuring accurate cost reporting to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and analyze cost accounting records for materials, labor, and overhead

• Prepare and reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold accounts

• Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances, purchase price variances, and margin performance

• Assist with standard cost updates, cost roll-ups, and variance analysis

• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost data and process alignment

• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations related to inventory and cost activities

• Support month-end close and financial reporting by providing detailed cost analysis and commentary

• Assist in developing budgets and forecasts related to production and inventory

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement

• Participate in annual physical inventory counts and cycle count programs

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and GAAP

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 3+ years of cost accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or distribution environment

• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methods

• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems (such as SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle)

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and operations teams

• CPA or CMA certification preferred

Schedule:
Hybrid work model (3 days onsite in Seattle, 2 days remote per week)
