Data Analyst – Government/Public Health experience required

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our team and support the development and implementation of a new electronic infectious disease surveillance system. This vital system will be a cornerstone in monitoring and controlling infectious diseases, identifying outbreaks, and enhancing the public health response across the state. The successful candidate will assist in migrating from the current Maven SCION system to a modernized platform that aligns with the agency standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily operations, user needs, and enhancement of the current Maven SCION system until the new system is fully operational.
- Conduct business needs assessments, define project requirements, and manage system testing for robust functionality.
- Provide system user support, account management, troubleshooting, reporting, and document user training resources.
- Collaborate with IT staff, Program Area System Owners, and project managers to ensure smooth system operations, accurate data monitoring, and adherence to IT security standards.
- Gather and analyze data, identify trends, and generate reports to guide program improvements and maintain data quality.
- Coordinate and validate system testing, production, and ongoing monitoring processes.
- Develop and maintain procedures and policies to meet agency cybersecurity standards, ensuring compliance with NIST 800-53, FISMA, and SC InfoSec requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
- Experience in system analysis, monitoring, and performance reporting.
- Experience with Microsoft Visio and ticketing software
- Government or Public Health sector experience mandatory , candidates lacking this will not be given any consideration.
