Description: Responsible for high quality & efficient management of all HIM functions including coding activities & clinical documentation improvement functions. Record processing & completion, coding, clinical documentation improvement, abstracting, transcription, & release of info, & activities with performance improvement. Serves as a subject matter expert for use, disclosure, and retention of clinical medical records. Works closely with Patient Financial Services, Patient Access, Revenue Integrity, Legal Department, Risk Management, Clinical Informatics, Quality, Utilization Review, case management, medical staff, & Privacy Office. Protects confidentiality, integrity & the unique patient identifier of clinical documents & its output. Directs overall activities of personnel to ensure accurate & timely processing of medical records according to Baptist Health South Florida policies/goals. Ensures complete, accurate, & timely processing of medical records & clinical documents according to TJC, CMS, & Baptist Health South Florida Medical Staff rules/regulations. Maintains & fully understands data collection & analysis for hospital & physician profiling. Ensures that the clinical documentation program improves system-wide documentation in compliance with rules/regulations of all local, state, & federal agencies, & to the standards of all accrediting bodies.
