We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join our dynamic team and drive our commitment to environmental stewardship, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance.
Job Summary :
The EHS Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs within our chemical manufacturing facility. This role involves overseeing safety policies, ensuring environmental compliance, managing risk assessments, conducting audits, and ensuring the plant adheres to all relevant health and safety regulations. The EHS Manager will collaborate closely with various departments to maintain a safe and sustainable working environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations to minimize risks and incidents.
Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence of safety or environmental issues.
Prepare and submit all necessary reports for regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
Provide EHS training and education to employees and management to enhance safety awareness and regulatory knowledge.
Ensure all safety equipment and safety management systems are functional and compliant.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety and environmental considerations into production processes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for safety performance and sustainability practices.
Maintain emergency response plans and lead drills, ensuring preparedness for various scenarios.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management within a chemical manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local safety/environmental standards.
Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar industry certifications (e.g., CHMM, CIH) is highly preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively train and influence employees at all levels.
Proven ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams in safety and environmental initiatives.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to perform risk assessments and data analysis.
Proficiency in using EHS management software and tools.
