Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction estimating and project management, with a strong ability to analyze costs and negotiate effectively. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. The Estimator will collaborate closely with office staff, clients, and subcontractors to deliver accurate estimates that drive project success.

Duties:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, utilizing software for precision and efficiency.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with project management teams to develop budgets and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
• Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best value for the company.
• Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Utilize software for document management and collaboration during the estimating process.
• Provide support in cost control measures and assist in identifying potential risks associated with project budgets.

Skills:

• Required : Experience estimating underground utility and site development work.
• Required: Proficiency in HeavyBid (HCSS Programs) and AGTEK software systems for construction estimating.
• Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, or similar software, for efficient document handling and communication.
• Ability to conduct thorough analysis of construction sites to inform pricing strategies.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in cost estimation.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex information clearly.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40 hours a week.
