Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Dallas Mavericks is looking for an Event Coordinator to join our team and oversee and organize events that will make an impact on the organization. You'll ensure events are successful, cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints.

JOB FUNCTION:

* Assist in planning and execution of events for the Dallas Mavericks including game day events, community events, season ticket holder events, corporate partnership events, and all events relating to the Dallas Mavericks brand

* Assist in facilitating logistics for all events including dcor, venue preparation, guest lists, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, AV, gifting, and marketing materials

* Work closely with events team to execute events to the standards of the Dallas Mavericks

* Host internal recaps of Dallas Mavericks events to analyze the event's successes and areas of improvement

* Prepare event budgets and ensure adherence

* Help maintain and update the Dallas Mavericks Events and Experiences calendar

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function as well as the following:

* Proven experience in event planning or coordination, with a track record of successfully managing events from concept to completion.

* Strong project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and prioritize workload.

* Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

* Ability to manage and build relationships with vendors, venues, and other industry contacts, ensuring smooth collaboration and execution.

* Stay current with or ahead of trends in event planning, design, and production to bring fresh ideas to the team.

* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with employees, vendors, stakeholders, and guests.

* Resourceful and proactive team player who can contribute positively to the team dynamic.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* Must pass a drug screening and have a clean background record.

* Reliable and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
