Description Job Summary The Forklift Operator is primarily responsible for accurately and safely loading trucks and transporting glass throughout the facility. You will work in a cross-functional environment with our management team to meet daily shipping requirements and provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Essential Functions - Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety practices, and guidelines
- Inspect racks for quality and verify the product is loaded accurately to meet or exceed Cardinal and customer expectations
- Safely operate powered equipment while transporting glass throughout the facility and loading and unloading products
- Ensure the driving zone is clear from debris or hazards by maintaining a clean work environment
- Operate manipulator to pack glass into wooden crates, if necessary
- Ensure all rejected glass is dumped into recycling bins
- Utilize handheld scanners when loading trailers to create bill of lading
- Communicate with IG department to stage racks required for production
- Utilize the wrap machine or occasionally shrink-wrap racks manually
- Willingness to seek out additional roles and responsibilities within your department
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively, ensuring all radio calls are answered
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- May be required to work overtime, different shifts, and perform additional tasks to meet company needs and deadlines
Workplace Environment - Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and potentially sharp objects
- Noise level can be high and will vary based on location in the plant
- May be required to move racks and rejected glass indoor and outdoor
Prior Experience/Qualifications - At least two years of sit-down forklift experience is required
- Solid Work History - Manufacturing or warehousing experience, preferred

Shift: 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 2:30 PM- 11:00 PM
Pay: $20.00/hour
($19.00 + $1.00 Shift Differential) + Potential Monthly Profit Sharing
