Summary

Under the supervision of the Senior Associate Vice President for Community Health, Education & Training, the Health Informaticist will design and maintain the HR-LINCS informatics infrastructure linking intervention participant data with individual, community, and hospital data systems. This position bridges public health, data science, and information technology to enable longitudinal, geocoded analysis of social determinants and health outcomes.The incumbent will collaborate with researchers, CHWs, health departments, and hospital IT teams to develop dashboards and analytic pipelines supporting intervention evaluation and health-equity monitoring.

Job Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and maintain secure, scalable databases integrating multi-source datasets (EHRs, public-health data, CHW inputs, survey data, environmental metrics).
  • Develop visualization dashboards that track outcomes across demographic and geographic strata.
  • Implement data standards, dictionaries, and quality-control protocols consistent with HR-LINCS governance.
  • Collaborate with investigators to link intervention-specific data (e.g., surveys, interviews) with institutional datasets.
  • Manage data-sharing agreements and ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Support analytic modeling, data extraction, and reporting for manuscripts, dashboards, and community briefs.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to research and community teams in data literacy and use of analytic tools.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Health Informatics, Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
  • = 3 years’ experience in data integration, analytics, or health-information systems.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, and GIS tools.
  • Experience working with EHRs and public-health surveillance data.
  • Knowledge of privacy and security standards (HIPAA, FERPA, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills and experience in multidisciplinary teams.

WORK CONDITIONS:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include 20/40 vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Work is primarily indoors, but some events may require the incumbent to be in an outdoor environment when traveling between campus buildings or off campus. Must be willing to travel, and work evenings and weekends, as needed.

This is a part-time position estimated for 20-25. Standard office hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm, however work after hours will be required to meet the demands of the position during peak times. Training sessions may be presented after regular work hours.
