Salary: $71,000 - 92,000 per year Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years of experience with typical computer systems, operating systems, applications, and peripherals
- Three years of IT work experience in a user support role
- In-depth knowledge of commercially available operating systems and applications used by the agency
- Familiarity with help desk applications for change/problem management
- Understanding of computer systems and peripheral devices for system monitoring
- Knowledge of user password security principles and practices
- Basic understanding of database principles
- Knowledge of network domains and login procedures
- Awareness of web browser functionalities and differences between intranets and the Internet
- General knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Pascal, COBOL, Natural, Fortran, BASIC, HTML)
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to create and utilize disk images
- Competence in developing system documentation and ensuring its completeness and accuracy
- Capability to assist in monitoring program tests and reviewing computer output for errors
- Skill in restoring data from backup media
- Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures related to help desk support
- Understanding of the agencys change/problem management plan
- Experience with hardware and software specific to the agency
- Talent for training and leading assigned personnel
- Ability to oversee operations in the absence of a supervisor
Responsibilities: - Provide user support for computer systems and applications
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to computer hardware and software
- Configure help desk applications for effective problem management
- Monitor computer systems and peripheral devices to ensure optimal functioning
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of system documentation for clarity and completeness
- Conduct tests on programs, monitoring outcomes, and identifying issues
- Facilitate data recovery from backup sources as necessary
- Train and mentor junior team members in best practices
- Lead operations effectively in the absence of a supervisor
- Stay updated on departmental policies and procedures regarding help desk support
