Essential Functions Manages the recruitment (posting) process for exempt and nonexempt employees using the standard hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce. Provides necessary education and materials to department contacts to assist in the employment process. Coordinates and guides the hiring process for exempt and nonexempt employees, including background checks, reviewing transcripts, and initiating offer letters. Manages and verifies the data entry of employment information. Initiates and audits the onboarding process for employees including collecting required employment documentation and system input. Serves as backup for the Benefit Specialist. Maintains a working knowledge of the benefits processes and systems. Helps with annual benefit open enrollment and benefit fairs. Assists with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as college/department meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, and one-on-one meetings. Partners with colleges and departments to communicate HR policies, procedures, and programs. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Assists to establish departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the department's strategic goals. Performs other responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in human resources, business administration, or a closely related field. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task effectively in a varied, high-volume environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and customers. Experience performing with a high level of diplomacy, confidentiality and trust while projecting a professional and positive image. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize. Ability to respond quickly and constructively to changes or unexpected shifts in priorities. Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications such as, but not limited to, Outlook, Excel, and Word.Preferred Qualifications At least six months of related professional experience is preferred. Experience in an institutional/education environment. Experience with software such as Banner, PeopleAdmin, and DocuSign.Work Hours Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed.Compensation and Benefits
