Job Description
The Judicial Assistant in Burlington supports the Information Center by handling customer inquiries, clerical tasks, and data entry. Key duties include answering calls from courts statewide, uploading transcripts, processing credit card payments, and completing criminal record checks. This position offers a hybrid remote schedule after training.
The ideal candidate will bring administrative, clerical and customer service experience and a desire to use their skills in upholding the rule of law to ensure equal access to justice.
This is a full-time, permanent opening in the Statewide Courts in Burlington, Vermont. Starting salary is $22.07 per hour. The Judicial Assistant is a non-exempt Judicial Branch position equivalent to pay grade 19. The State of Vermont’s total compensation package features an outstanding set of employee benefits that are worth about 30% of your total compensation.

Summary of Duties
Scheduled hours of work generally conform to public court hours, but assignments may extend beyond those hours. Occasional travel to other courts within the State of Vermont may be required. Travel will be reimbursed according to State policies. This position will be eligible for longevity increases in accordance with the State step pay plan and annual cost of living increases as enacted by the Vermont State Legislature. Job Code # 25059
