The manager of marketing and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) will support development and implementation of marketing campaigns, social media, events, and university website maintenance to ensure it is optimized to achieve high-page ranking in organic/paid searches in the Department of Marketing and Communications. The manager of marketing and SEO will report to the director of marketing and communications and will work closely internally with all team members in the Department of Marketing and Communications, as well as other key stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Duties and responsibilities:

•Campaign execution: Follow strategies, branding guidelines, and marketing templates to ensure campaigns are precise and effective.

•Content creation: Support producing marketing content, such as presentations, promotional materials, social media posts, etc., in collaboration with marketing and communications team.

•Campaign reporting: Create reports on campaign results and metrics to assess success, where needed.

•Administrative tasks: Maintain marketing databases, promotional materials inventory, calendars, tracking sheets, etc. in support of marketing and communications department campaigns and events.

•Event planning: Coordinate event logistics, where needed.

•Provide continuous improvement for the website by making updates to content, where needed, to increase user engagement.

•In consultation with the director of marketing and communications, work to ensure content, design, social media, and marketing are aligned to produce best SEO results.

•Help the director of marketing and communications identify and create audience personas to better target identified audiences.

•Stay up to date with the latest SEO and digital marketing trends and best practices.

Competency:

The manager will be assigned extended multiple projects that must be completed within a set timeframe. Must be a self-motivated, detailed-oriented person with exceptional organizational, verbal, written, interpersonal and planning skills with ability to meet deadlines. The manager must be able to work in a team environment with keen work ethic, initiative and ability to work through ambiguous situations. .

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university required; and one to three years related professional experience marketing and/or communications preferred; professional experience in a higher education setting preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, the manager must have the ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Teams, email and collaborative platforms, such as Google products to generate reports (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms), including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, MailChimp, Kajabi, texting applications, notification systems, etc. Knowledge of the TYPO3 content management system software and WordPress is a plus, while the ability to learn it in a short period of time is essential. Strong social media skills and knowledge of social media platforms are preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public (good customer relation skills).

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret various types of graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Annual Salary:

$68,640.00, plus generous benefits
