We are hiring Part-Time Math Tutors for in-person tutoring at both our Lake Zurich/Barrington, IL and Schaumburg, IL locations. Math Tutor TestPrep (ACT/SAT) Tutor Benefits: Flexible hours, with seven days a week to choose from, including mornings in the summer. No lesson planning...we provide that for you so you can focus on teaching! Giving back and making a difference, especially since the pandemic as student needs have risen dramatically. Ability to see the results of your teaching efforts in a very short timeframe, as we work individually with students. Tutor Requirements: For Math Teachers: Education/Teaching or Math Degree preferred. College students or professionals with strong Math abilities are also welcome. For TestPrep (ACT/SAT) Tutor: strong ACT/SAT score required (30 ACT/1400 SAT). No teaching degree required. Excellent Part-Time job for students at local Community Colleges. 1 years teaching or tutoring experience preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task. Ability to make connections with students. Working out of one of our locations in Schaumburg or Lake Zurich/Barrington. Tutor Skills and Qualifications: Teach using Sylvan based programs Direct and motivate students during instruction Reward students for successful work Evaluate and document student progress Communicate student needs to our Educational Team Develop rapport with students and establish a fun, engaging learning environment Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan About Sylvan Learning Centers: We are the industry leaders in providing supplemental education to children in pre-K through 12th grade. We provide individualized instruction in Comprehension, Reading, English, Writing, Math and Study Skills. We also offer ACT/SAT Test Prep and STEM. Given the pandemic, we are seeing growing needs for tutoring. We teach 7 days per week and require our teachers to work at least one of Saturday/Sunday, and at least one day during the week.
