Avera St. Luke’s Hospital is looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Team!

This position may be eligible for a Sign on Bonus of $15,000 with a 3 year commitment.

This position may be eligible for a Relocation Bonus if you reside 500 miles outside of Aberdeen, SD.

Job Summary

• The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures and related duties.
• Utilizes scientific principles as well as technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance and corrective action, test result correlation, and clinical laboratory related continuing education.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science and completion of NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related science and one to two years of experience/training acceptable to the ASCP or AMT for the Medical Laboratory Scientist required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist from the ASCP, AMT, or equivalent required within 12 months of hire.

Work Schedule

• Varied Shift Schedule: 8 am - 6pm, 7:30 am - 4pm, Noon to 8pm or 2:30 pm to 11pm; May fill in on overnight shift from 7pm to 7am as needed
• Rotate every 3rd Weekend/Holiday 
• Full Time; 72 hours every 2 weeks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $27.50 - $41.50 per hour
