Are you passionate about teaching and inspiring middle school students? We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated long-term substitute Math teacher to join our faculty during a portion of the 2024-2025 school year. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with students in grades 6 and 7, teaching Math 6th and Pre-Algebra.

Position Overview:

You will begin this role two weeks before the start of the regular teacher's leave of absence to ensure a smooth transition. During your time with us, you will be responsible for teaching Math to 6th and 7th graders, helping to foster their love for learning while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

What You'll Do:

Teach Math 6th and Pre-Algebra to middle school students
Create engaging and student-centered lessons that promote active learning
Foster critical thinking and help students build strong mathematical skills, including numeracy, algebraic thinking, and graphing equations
Engage students in discussions that enhance their understanding of mathematical concepts
Advise students and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned
Participate in school events and contribute to the vibrant life of the school community
Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Math education or a related field is required
3 to 5 years of teaching experience, preferably with middle school students
Experience teaching in an independent school setting is preferred, but not required
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Familiarity with 21st-century learning practices and creating meaningful learning experiences for students
Ability to teach in both in-person and remote learning environments, as needed
