Offset Press Operator
Role Summary
Our client is searching for an Offset Press Operator to join the team. As a Press Operator, you will be tasked with setting up and ensuring high-quality output on the offset press.
Key Responsibilities
- Change press plates, blankets, and cylinders as needed
- Notifies Team Lead of quality issues
- Runs machine at optimal speed to meet production standards
- Performs adjustments on the machine to ensure maximum productivity
- Communicates job status and production concerns/issues during shift transition to ensure optimal productivity for the following shift
- Cleans ink fountains, plates, and changes units as needed
- Performs regular quality checks on all components to ensure quality standards are met
- Recalibrates equipment as required
- Works with the Team Lead to resolve concerns.
- Ensures safety practices are followed
- Accurately tracks job counts, make-readies, and waste as instructed
- Ability to spot defects in the print and correct essential functions of the job
- Sets up the machine and maintains quality throughout the run per individual job
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Skills and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required for this role
- Prior offset printing background as pressman preferred
- Ability to monitor production equipment for speed and quality
- Capable of reading and interpreting job instructions
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Knowledge of mechanical operations and production processes
- Able to work with both computers and mechanical systems
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including moving up to 10 pounds regularly and lifting up to 45 pounds intermittently
