This role supports the General Counsel in delivering practical, business-focused legal guidance across a variety of matters. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and passionate about contributing to the success of a mission-driven, community-focused financial institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and organized legal files, including contracts, board materials, regulatory documents, and corporate governance records.
  • Help track regulatory changes and support compliance initiatives in coordination with the Compliance and Risk teams.
  • Prepare board and committee materials, assist with corporate filings, and support shareholder and governance matters.
  • Track key contract terms, renewal dates, and ensure alignment with bank policies and risk standards.
  • Support response to subpoenas and legal proceedings, and liaise with outside counsel and vendors when needed.
  • Work closely with departments such as Lending, HR, Operations, and Finance to assist with legal documentation and support day-to-day legal needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a legal support role within a financial institution, law firm, or similar regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of fiduciary concepts, estate structures, client agreements, and fraud-related legal matters.
  • Experience working in a banking or financial services environment is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of corporate law, governance, and regulatory compliance—especially in a financial or banking context—is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with contract or legal management software is a plus
  • Integrity, discretion, and sound professional judgment
