We are searching for an experienced, detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our growing company. In this position, you be responsible for compiling, recording, and processing payroll accurately, while providing excellent customer service to our employees. You will work collaboratively and with a team of skilled professionals in a fast-paced environment. As a part of our team, you will report directly to the Payroll Supervisor.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Accurate import and review of payroll data, and completion of the full payroll cycle for weekly employees.
• Entering new hires into the payroll module and inactivating terminated employees.
• Provide first line support for all payroll inquiries.
• Process wage garnishments, child support notices, tax levies, unemployment claims, and verification of employment.
• Process union reporting and update system with rate changes.
• File local payroll taxes.
• Enter accounts payable invoices as needed.
• Maintain and file electronic payroll related documents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience in payroll.
• Computer proficiency and expertise in Microsoft products (Excel and Word) and Vista, preferred but not required.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent organizational, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
