POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Physical Security Specialist II Date: October 2024

Department: Risk Management Status: Hourly

Reporting To: Director of Risk Management Pay Grade: 6

POSITION SUMMARY

The Physical Security Specialist implements the Credit Union’s Physical Security Program and is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the program, including but not limited to badge access, camera monitoring and reporting, business continuity planning, etc. The program is overseen by the Director of Risk Management. This individual monitors and reports the results of the physical security efforts of the organization and provides guidance and feedback on matters relating to physical security issues. Additionally, this individual presents and tracks training on physical security related programs, including anti-robbery, active shooter, and emergency evacuation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Act as a channel of communication for receiving and responding to physical security issues. Act as a conduit to ensure that physical security issues are appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
  • Respond to physical access tickets in a timely and professional manner.
  • Issue and manage physical access badges and privileges for employees, vendors, and visitors.
  • Perform the steps needed to achieve the objectives of First Source Federal Credit Union Physical Security program as well as regular reports about physical security efforts and violations.
  • Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulation, Policies, and procedures by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
  • With the assistance of the Director of Risk Management, develop, implement, and maintain a Physical Security Program, reporting process, and a system to handle violations.
  • Develop, facilitate, and track training related to anti-robbery, active shooter, and emergency evacuation.
  • Coordinates with law enforcement, as necessary, for investigations involving physical security.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and assists in any areas as directed by the Director of Risk Management.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Police Science, Information Security, Organizational Security or Security Management preferred.
  • Professional Security Certification (Certified Protection Professional – CPP or Physical Security Professional – PSP) a plus.
  • Three years’ experience in corporate security, law enforcement or military service (military police, intelligence, information security, physical security, etc.)
  • Knowledge of video surveillance systems and controls is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Card Access Systems, hardware and triggers is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management skills, organization, communication, and takes initiative.
  • Ability to effectively articulate security concepts and practices with staff.
  • Identifies and understands the culture at FSFCU.
  • Required to adhere to Credit Union Policies and procedures.
  • Required to participate in First Source Federal Credit Union events as well as designated community events.
  • Required to attend or participate in necessary compliance training, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy, OFAC, and Privacy.
  • Required to attend training sessions as appropriate.
  • Required to travel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
