Job Description

• Experience teaching students from 6-18 yrs. old
• Professional pianist
• Bachelor’s degree in music performance or music education preferred

Essential Functions:

• Teaching piano to students age 6-18.
• Ability to work as a member of the arts team, as well as with other GCDS professionals
• Personality traits appropriate for nurturing the growth of children/young adults- must be energetic, flexible, patient, and creative.

Responsibilities Include:

• Teach piano weekly in accordance with the school calendar and student schedule.
• Ensure students are returned to their classes in a timely manner.
• Support students in preparation and execution of a year-end recital.
• Effectively communicate with parents.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Teaching Instruction - Imparting knowledge or skills to others through effective methods and procedures tailored to various situations.
• Communication- Conveying oral and written information clearly and giving full attention to what others are saying.
• Reasoning- Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
• Adaptability: Willingness to take on diverse roles within the school, demonstrating flexibility and patience.
• Safety and Security- Must have knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies for the protection of people, data, property, and school.
• Physical Requirements- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and walk frequently across campuses

Classification:

• Regular, part-time position (10 months, 29 hrs or less/wk)
• Exempt-Salaried
