Job Title: Picker Job Description The Picker plays a critical role in ensuring that the fulfillment center is consistently stocked with the correct materials at the right time. This position directly supports operational flow, minimizes delays, and contributes to accurate and on-time order fulfillment. Through precise material picking, documentation, and staging, the Picker helps maintain service level standards and cross-departmental efficiency. Responsibilities Ensure carts are prepared and available at the start of each shift. Verify radios are powered on and set to the correct team communication channel. Complete and document daily checks of the electric pallet jack using the maintenance log. Tag and relocate inoperable equipment with a red 'Out of Service' ticket to the designated red tag area. Use zone pick sheets to locate and retrieve items from racks, shelves, and bins. Accurately record quantities pulled; sign and print name for traceability and accountability. Organize picked materials by destination using assigned color codes. Attach the job ticket holder and matching color-coded cone to each cart or pallet. Stage materials in designated areas to support downstream workflows. Replenish pick zones as needed to prevent delays and out-of-stock scenarios. Assist Inventory Support in material turnover when picking volume allows. Assist with putaway of inbound inventory during low-pick-volume periods. Participate in spot checks, cycle counts, and scheduled inventory audits (bi-annual/annual). Return pallet jack to charge station and radio to charging area; clear floors and ensure debris is removed from all working areas. Dispose of all trash properly to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment. Work Environment The role is based in a clean warehouse environment with no extreme temperatures. The standard work hours are from 6:50 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility to start earlier at 6:30 AM or 7:00 AM in the new facility, allowing an earlier finish at 3:30 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Asheville, North Carolina. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
