Pipefitter Foreman
Baltimore, MD
We are currently looking for a Pipefitter Foreman to join an industrial contractor located in Glen Burnie, MD to help support projects in the area and lead the team of Pipefitters, Welders, and Millwrights onsite. They work within refineries, power plants, manufacturing & production facilities, and chemical processing plants for the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
Responsibilities:
Planning and coordinating a job, ordering materials and managing the crew onsite to ensure the job is completed on time and within budget.
Ability to take a project from award to completion, using their technical skills and ability, with minimal support.
Communicate progress with the project manager daily.
Create isometric drawings from P&ID and orthogonal drawings, including field measurements and site conditions.
Lead a crew of 4-6 fitters and welders, providing adequate direction and guidance pertaining to:
Safety
Scope of Work
Layout
Identify, specify & communicate needs related to safety, Client, material and equipment to start and finish the assigned project.
Understanding and experience with instrumentation, controls and connections to process equipment.
Understanding and experience with valves and tanks.
Track and document hours worked for themselves and the entire crew, communicated daily via timesheet with the home office.
Track and document additional work, using Time & Material tickets, to be verified and approved by the client, and submitted daily to the home office for approval.
Hold weekly toolbox talks and ensure proper documentation.
Create & update daily JSA (Job Safety Awareness) plans and communicate to the crew daily, or as the scope of work changes.
Read and understand P&ID and orthogonal drawings.
Layout pipe routes through existing plant conditions.
Experience with some or all the following:
Carbon Steel Threaded, butt weld, socket weld (1/2 thru 24 )
Stainless Steel Threaded, butt weld, socket weld (1/2 thru 12 )
Fiberglass Butt wrap & socket (4 thru 24 )
PVC Socket & SDR-35 (1/2 thru 6 )
HDPE Fusion Weld (4 thru 24 )
Copper Threaded & Socket (sweat) (1/2 thru 3 )
Can layout pipelines including changes in elevation, direction & flow (i.e. take-outs for elbows, rolling off-sets, etc.).
Install in-line instrumentation, valves, and other appetences.
Requirements:
Willing to work at least 40 hours per week, such as 4-10's schedule (Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday) or if required (7) 12's, starting at 6:30 AM.
Flexibility on work environment (i.e. dirty versus clean work).
Flexibility to work night shift as required (not likely but may be necessary).
Flexibility to work outside the trade, if pipefitting work is not available.
Own Transportation and willingness to work within the MAIC region (MD, Southern PA, Northern VA, Eastern WV, and DE).
Ability to work off-shift and extended hours as needed.
US Citizen or Green Card Verified.
Provide own hand tools.
