A commercial audio video designer, programmer, integrator, and service provider is looking to hire a Pre-Sales Design Engineer in Durham, NC. The main responsibility of this role is to design AV systems for optimal functionality and user experience. As a trusted advisor, you'll prioritize precision, timeliness, and accuracy to ensure client satisfaction and system longevity.
Responsibilities:
- Design customer-focused AV systems with attention to detail, timeliness, and accuracy to ensure client satisfaction and sustainability.
- Collaborate with the Account Team to assess customer needs and provide technical advisement during pre-sale opportunities, including attending client meetings.
- Deliver customer service that builds clients confidence in the team"s capabilities and commitment to excellence.
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager on project expectations, timelines, and challenges, ensuring adherence to design schedules.
- Work closely with post-sales designers to ensure accuracy in drawings and design intent.
- Contribute to the improvement of design templates, methodologies, and innovation efforts.
- Support the company's asset management upon request.
- Maintain proficiency in current and emerging technologies through ongoing education, external training, and collaboration with teammates.
- Maintain certifications (DSP, CTS, DMC-E, Dante, XTP-E) as needed.
- Provide technical advice and on-site support to installation and service teams.
- Update the Dtools equipment catalog and assist with network infrastructure design.
- Comply with administrative tasks like submitting time and expense reports, and execute other tasks as needed.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Must be willing and able to work in person 3 days a week
- Proven track record of delivering successful projects with quantifiable results and customer satisfaction
- 3+ years of experience designing different types of commercial AV systems across various sectors (education, healthcare, government, corporate, etc.)
- Bachelor"s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or networking, or equivalent experience
- CTS certification
- CTS-D certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Entry-level DSP, DMC-E, Dante, and XTP-E certifications
- Familiarity with ConnectWise (ERP system) is a plus
- Ability to apply basic network design principals
- Able to gain approved healthcare systems access (credentialing)
- Proven experience in direct client interaction
