Job Title: Radiation Oncology Physician

Location: Memphis, TN

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Board-Certified Radiation Oncology Physician to provide comprehensive cancer treatment to veterans at Memphis, TN. The ideal candidate must be certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR), with expertise in advanced radiation therapy techniques, and a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience post-residency. The physician will be responsible for delivering state-of-the-art care while adhering to the highest standards of radiation oncology practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct Patient Care: Evaluate, treat, and manage both inpatient and outpatient cancer patients, including performing prostate seed implants and follow-up evaluations.
• Radiation Treatment Planning: Develop patient-centered treatment plans using advanced modalities such as IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, and SRS.
• Patient Consultation and Evaluation: Conduct thorough consultations with new patients, review medical histories, and collaborate with the referring physicians to establish treatment protocols.
• Weekly Treatment Management: Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as necessary, and address side effects or complications.
• On-Call Duties: Be available for phone consultations with VA residents and physicians during off-hours and provide immediate care when necessary.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough patient records, document treatment plans, patient progress, and discharge summaries in the VA's Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).

Qualifications:

• License: Must possess a current, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
• Board Certification: ABR-certified in Radiation Oncology with current BLS/ACLS certification.
• Clinical Experience: A minimum of 5 years of post-residency experience in Radiation Oncology.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency with advanced treatment modalities (IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS) and experience with Eclipse treatment planning and ARIA record/verify systems.
• Compliance: Adherence to clinical guidelines from the American College of Radiology (ACR), American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), and other accrediting bodies.
