Title:  Research/Data Analyst (Economic Development Focus)

Work Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Work Day: Monday – Friday

We seek a detail-oriented Research/Data Analyst to support our economic development initiatives through rigorous data analysis, market research, and insightful reporting. The ideal candidate will transform complex economic data into actionable intelligence that informs strategic decision-making for public sector projects and community development programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Research

• Conduct comprehensive economic and market data analysis using primary and secondary sources

• Perform industry trend analysis, demographic studies, and economic impact assessments

• Develop   baseline market reports and competitive analyses for target sectors

• Prepare grant funding summaries and performance metrics for program evaluation

Reporting & Visualization

• Create clear, compelling data visualizations (dashboards, infographics, charts)

• Produce case studies highlighting successful economic development initiatives

• Synthesize complex findings into executive summaries and policy briefs

• Maintain organized documentation of research methodologies and data sources

Strategic Support

• Provide data-driven recommendations to support program development

• Collaborate with project teams to identify key performance indicators

• Support grant applications with relevant market research and needs assessments

• Assist in monitoring and evaluating program outcomes

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field

• Minimum 3 years professional experience in market research, economic analysis, or data analytics

• Demonstrated experience working with public sector data and reporting requirements

• Proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, SPSS, or STATA) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)

• Advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data modeling)

• Strong understanding of economic indicators and market research methodologies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred:

• Experience with geospatial analysis (GIS mapping) for economic development

• Knowledge of public sector databases (e.g., Census, BLS, EMSI)
