About the Role: Residential Case Manager

As a Case Manager at SARC, you will provide compassionate support and critical resources to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and stalking.

What You'll Do:

• Conduct shelter screenings and intakes, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for new residents.

• Assess client needs through interviews and evaluations, identifying key factors such as safety, housing, employment, and mental health concerns.

• Develop individualized service plans that empower clients to achieve stability and long-term wellbeing.

• Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and trauma-informed care to help clients navigate their healing journey.

• Connect clients with community resources, including healthcare, counseling, legal advocacy, and employment services.

• Maintain accurate case notes, program statistics, and reports to track progress and ensure quality service delivery.

• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure shifts are covered and that shelter operations run smoothly.

• Offer 24-hour on-call support to assist staff in making informed decisions and responding to emergencies.

• Conduct routine safety checks and assist with shelter upkeep, ensuring a secure and comfortable space for residents.

Who You Are:

You are a compassionate, resourceful, and dedicated advocate who is passionate about supporting survivors. You bring:

• A strong ability to listen, communicate effectively, and build trusting relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.

• The ability to think critically and apply problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.

• A trauma-informed approach to working with survivors, recognizing and responding to the impact of trauma with sensitivity and care.

• Attention to detail, organization, and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.

• A willingness to collaborate with a team while also working independently.

• Physical capability to navigate shelter facilities, including climbing stairs and lifting occasional bulky items.

Schedule: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 10am-6pm.

Salary: Starting at $27 per hour depending on experience. Any hours worked between 8pm to 8am are eligible for a $4.00/hour shift differential.

Requirements

What You Need:

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field OR at least two years of relevant experience in case management, social services, or victim advocacy.

• A commitment to upholding confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards when working with survivors.

• The ability to adapt and respond calmly to crisis situations while supporting clients through challenging circumstances.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document case notes and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

• A willingness to participate in ongoing training, particularly in Trauma-Informed Care and best practices with victim services.

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Preferred:

• At least one year of experience providing case management, crisis intervention, or direct advocacy services for survivors of violence.

• Familiarity with community resources, housing assistance, legal advocacy, and crisis intervention strategies.

• Experience working in a residential or emergency shelter setting.
