Electromagnetics and Network Systems Team at Raytheon Technologies Research Center is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of research engineer specialized in RF circuits and microelectronics. The candidate is expected to work on projects and programs focused on transitioning novel concepts from early technology stages to a state that impacts and influences businesses and applications.
What You Will Do: The responsibilities include supporting execution of ongoing programs and preparation of external and internal research proposals; building relationships to support developing businesses with industry, academia, and government agencies; disseminating research results through reports, conference proceedings, and peer-reviewed articles, and developing intellectual property.
The preferred candidate will have a strong understanding of science and engineering principles, knowledge of emerging techniques, materials and structures for RF/microwave systems and a record of innovation as evidenced by patent applications, contribution to government funded basic research programs, and/or high-quality journal and conference publications.
Qualifications You Must Have: - Background and understanding of RF integrated circuits and microelectronics, emerging materials in microfabrication, and their implementation within devices and micro-systems for diverse applications such as communication and electromagnetic sensing.
- Understanding of science and engineering principles and a record of innovation as evidenced by patent applications, contribution to government funded basic research programs, and/or high-quality journal and conference publications.
- Hands-on experience on electromagnetic theory, RF circuits/component design, their fabrication and testing.
- Knowledge of emerging techniques, materials, and structures for RF/microwave systems.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
Qualifications We Prefer: - Self-motivation, excellent written/verbal communication, strong collaboration, problem-solving and interpersonal skills with track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, and initiative.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: RF/microwave integrated circuits, microelectronics, MEMS, electromagnetic sensing.
- Practical knowledge of project management and practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Required Education: Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or a related field with +5 years of experience;
Preferred: Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
