Your Role:
As a Sales Engineer, you'll be responsible for driving sales and influencing customer decisions with your technical expertise and organizational skills. You'll play a key role in marketing, market planning, and the technical development of our products and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sales Development and Delivery:
  • Establish and meet annual sales quotas and revenue goals.
  • Maintain daily contact with new and existing clientele. 
  • Continually develop customer relationships and follow up on leads. 
  • Prepare sales proposals regarding technical products and services. 
  • Create and deliver technical presentations. 
  • Review sales inquiries, including detailed technical specification reviews. 
  • Close sales contracts. 
  • Initiate and follow up with customers before, during, and after the sale.
  • Maintain up-to-date data entry into the company database. 
  • Coordinate and follow up with applicable company departments to ensure smooth sales operations. 
  • Travel routinely to meet with customers and company representatives.


Client Research and Development:

  • Develop and follow up on all sales leads. 
  • Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales. 
  • Research and develop lists of potential customers. 
  • Conduct market research to determine customer needs and provide information to Sales, Rental, and Marketing departments. 
  • Evaluate product and service marketability in terms of customers' technical needs. 
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness and understanding of industry trends, technical developments, and government regulations that affect target markets. 
  • Provide periodic travel plans, including travel summary reports.


Sales Department Support:

  • Maintain up-to-date equipment sales engineering manuals. 
  • Prepare Purchase Order Sales Document Manuals. 
  • Review equipment specifications, descriptions, and drawings as required. 
  • Produce regular reports on leads and potential sales. 
  • Analyze jobs won versus jobs lost. 
  • Maintain an up-to-date awareness of strategic plans and procedures to coordinate market plans. 
  • Establish and maintain up-to-date equipment pricing.


Communication and Teamwork:

  • Communicate openly, honestly, and constructively. 
  • Treat all employees and customers with dignity, respect, and courtesy. 
  • Take responsibility for and make every effort to resolve communication, trust, and respect concerns and problems. 
  • Ask for information needed to perform job responsibilities.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in MS Office software, especially MS Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed presentation skills.
  • Excellent customer relations skills.
  • Availability to travel at least 25% of the time.
  • Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to properly handle confidential information and records.
  • Able to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
  • Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.
  • Skill and ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar technical position.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
