Responsibilities:

Within the Budget and Finance work group for the Division of Finance and Administration, this position is responsible for administering and monitoring financial processes for various departments within the division. The role provides budget forecasts and resource projections based on ongoing financial analysis, and regularly reviews ledger data and transaction activity to ensure accuracy and compliance. This position applies advanced knowledge of financial principles and university accounting standards to resolve a wide range. operational and financial issues, both practical and strategic. The analyst demonstrates sound judgment in selecting appropriate analytical methods and techniques to develop meaningful insights. Interactions occur regularly with both internal departmental staff and external partners, requiring clear communication and professional collaboration.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Ability to independently gather required information to organize and perform financial analysis assignments.
  • Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to function as a member of a team.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of fund accounting, internal control practices, and their impact on protecting University resources.
  • Skill in coordinating and compiling information from numerous sources, analyze complex data, see the overall picture, and summarize financial reports for higher level management’s use in planning and decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple tasks and set priorities
  • Ability to use commercial PC-based software including Microsoft Windows and Office.
  • Effective, polite, and responsive oral and written communication skills with technical and non-technical people.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • 3-5 years financial budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting within a complex organization.


Preferred:

  • Knowledge of campus, University, State, and Federal financial policies and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using the campus Data Warehouse for research and reporting purposes.
  • Skill in reading and comprehension to understand, apply, and explain complex policy.
  • Knowledge of Kuali Financial System


Special Conditions:

  • Hybrid schedule includes both on-site and remote work days
  • Ability to work beyond the normal M to F, 8am to 5pm standard work day during busier periods, for special projects, etc.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $$77,000.00- $$97,000.00 (Annual).
