Barbaricum is seeking a Senior Military Operations Analyst to support The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) G-2. Your insights will provide commanders with an independent capability to explore alternative solutions, evaluate operational plans, and enhance decision-making processes. This role requires critical thinking, analytical expertise, and the ability to challenge conventional perspectives to strengthen TRADOC's strategic initiatives and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mission analyses to scope critical review requests.
  • Review and edit strategic documents to identify and address DOTMLPF gaps and disconnects.
  • Provide quick-turnaround reviews of short products (e.g., white papers, directives) within five workdays.
  • Deliver independent, detailed reviews of large-scale projects (e.g., experiments, war games) that challenge assumptions, solutions, and structure.
  • Present findings and recommendations via briefings and edited documents.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and work groups to provide alternative perspectives and solutions.
  • Conduct research, develop surveys, and identify issues or gaps to propose innovative solutions.
  • Create detailed written outputs, including observations, insights, briefings, and reports.
  • Attend 95% of relevant meetings fully prepared to challenge assumptions, processes, and conclusions.
  • Conduct independent fact-finding and informal assessments to inform decision-making.
  • Deliver outputs such as organizational studies, restructuring efforts, and audit support.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of resources used during analysis to justify conclusions or recommendations.
  • Limited travel (<10%) based on mission requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • 12-15 years of experience.
  • Military experience.
  • Proven experience in conducting critical reviews, red teaming, or strategic analysis.
  • Ability to identify and analyze DOTMLPF weaknesses, gaps, and assumptions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver clear briefings, reports, and edited products.
  • Proficiency in facilitating discussions, providing alternative perspectives, and influencing decision-making processes.

Preferred:

  • PhD preferred, War College.
  • Experience working within the Department of Defense or TRADOC environment.
  • Familiarity with organizational design, experiments, and war-gaming methodologies.
