Job Summary

We are currently seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, experienced, and thorough Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Enrolled Agent (EA), or current candidate to join our rapidly growing firm. In this role, you will provide a variety of accounting and tax services to our clients, including creating monthly financial statements, reconciling significant accounts, and preparing tax returns and tax projections. Heavy client interaction is a big part of this position! Accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail are vital to providing excellent customer service to our clients. Our ideal candidate has at least three years of professional accounting experience in a public accounting firm.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct tax interviews with clients
  • Request, collect, and compile all necessary documents
  • Review corporate and personal income tax returns
  • Advise business owners and individuals regarding the tax code
  • Proactive Tax Planning
  • Reconcile bank and other financial statements
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations at all times
  • Maintain constant communication with the IRS, State Agencies, and our clients
  • Keep highly organized and updated client files

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant field
  • Outstanding computer and technology skills
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or an Enrolled Agent (EA) in good standing is a plus
  • QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification or heavy experience preferred (QB Desktop AND QBO)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accountant / Tax Preparer in a public accounting setting
  • Corporate and personal tax experience required
  • Thomson Reuters software experience, including UltraTax required
  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and financial statements
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to connect with clients
  • Able to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment

Remote position requires a home office setup with a dedicated, wired, secure internet connection, a powerful and reliable PC, and multiple monitors. Additional computer hardware, if required, will be provided.

Salaried position requires additional hours beyond 40 hours weekly during peak periods such as tax season (January to April) and (September to October).
