Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for leading the department in ensuring that all shipments are properly received, and all documentation is verified.

What you'll do:

• Lead, motivate and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems.
• Reviews shipments orders, stage and assigns tasks to appropriate personnel.
• Work with supervisor to review the schedule to establish a plan for the evening shift.
• Solves day-to-day problems regarding Shipping/Receiving services.
• Greet and assist visitors/drivers in a timely and friendly manner.
• Coordinate with warehouse and transportation to ensure timely and accurate preparation of shipping and receiving documents.
• Receives, counts, and logs cash received by carriers if applicable.
• Maintain WMS Scheduler, hard copy schedules, and updates visual aids for traffic flow.
• Verify paperwork with and releases drivers once paperwork is completed.
• Completes receipts including pallets for loads.
• Verify product and product count to ensure accuracy of data entered in computer.
• Arrange outbound pick-up appointments for carriers and customer pickups.
• Call carriers for late and/or no-show trucks and reschedule appointments as necessary.
• Follows HACCP and SQF requirements for food quality and safety.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

• At least 1 year Shipping & Receiving experience.
• 1 year managing others required.
• Must have basic math and computer skills.
• Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Strong Interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Great attention to detail.
• Must be a team player.
• Willing to work weekends, holidays or different shifts when needed to ensure the business is operational 24/7.
