Position Summary:
NSC Staffing is seeking a Shipyard Electrician – 3rd Class (Cable Puller) to support shipbuilding and repair operations. This is a hands-on role focused on electrical cable pulling and basic installation . The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of electrical systems and be eager to grow in the trade under supervision and guidance.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities:
Assist in layout, fabrication, and installation of electrical wiring and coaxial cable aboard ships.
Pull, route, and secure cable throughout compartments and ship structures.
Cut wires to specified lengths, strip insulation, and insulate connections using sleeves or shrink tubing.
Mount and assist in installing electrical equipment as directed by drawings or supervisors.
Follow all technical instructions, schematics, and safety guidelines.
Support senior electricians and ensure tools and materials are used properly.
May monitor and report work quality using basic control procedures.
Required Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Navy “C” School or trade training in electrical work is a plus
Prior shipyard or marine experience preferred but not required for strong entry-level candidates

Basic knowledge of electrical tools and techniques
Ability to read and follow drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
U.S. Citizenship required
Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced shipyard environment
