Smithsburg Valley Church (Smithsburg, MD) Senior Pastor
THE BIG PICTURE
Smithsburg Valley Church (smithsburgvalleychurch.com) is seeking a Senior Pastor with a heart for God and a passion for ministry to serve a growing multi-generational church family in beautiful Smithsburg MD, a small town about one hour west of Baltimore and DC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate will undergo a 6-12 month transitional period working alongside the senior pastor of 30+ years with the goal of maintaining our current healthy church culture. The job will essentially be “part-time” with the candidate expected to participate in all phases of church ministry such that he can demonstrate proficiency in pastoral duties and develop a good rapport with the membership. Once the transition is complete the senior pastor will retire.
During the initial transition phase (3-6 months), the monthly salary would be between $2,000 and $2,500. This amount will ultimately be decided by our MMT (Church Board) based on experience and church budget. If the transition process takes longer than 6 months, the current pastor's salary will begin to decline while your monthly salary will increase
