Job Description

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a resource classroom setting during the 2025-2026 school year. The position is a contract role based onsite in Bishopville, SC, primarily serving grades 3 through 5.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to 12 students, focusing on those with learning disabilities and other special needs.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique learning requirements.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive and effective education strategies.
• Monitor student progress and adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learning styles.
• Support a semi self-contained student diagnosed with high-functioning autism who is verbal and requires focused assistance.
• Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learning and social development.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid LD certification or multi-categorical special education certification.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in grades 3 to 5.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, classroom management, and individualized instruction.
• Ability to work effectively onsite, contributing to a collaborative school environment.
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.

• Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week
