Job Summary:
The Bellows International USVI seeks a Staff Accountant to assist with month-end closing, cash management, accounts payable processing and approval, and other general accounting functions.
Essential Functions:
• Monitors bank accounts daily and records outgoing transactions.
• Submits transactions for payments, ACHs, and wire templates for banking.
• Prepares and closes accounts payable cutoff reports for the previous month.
• Completes PO corrections (laid in cost errors).
• Reconciles credit card transactions.
• Completes journal entries as needed.
• Manages vendor setups, processes supplier invoices, handles excise tax payments, and manages freight invoices.
• Processes check runs for all wire transactions and EFT payments.
Required Education and Experience:
• Two or more years of work experience in an accounting/reporting role
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent preferred
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software with Advanced MS Excel skills
• Prior accounting experience, preferably in a distribution environment
• Experience working in a multi-location environment is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
