Hourly Rate: $23/hour
Location: FIFTH SEASON, 9560 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90212

We are excited to announce an exceptional internship opportunity within our Business and Legal Affairs team at FIFTH SEASON, tailored for Law Students eager to delve into the realm of entertainment law. You'll be guided by seasoned professionals as you apply your legal acumen and enthusiasm for entertainment law to support various facets of our operations. Throughout the summer, you'll have the chance to draft pivotal development and production agreements, engage in hands-on Business Affairs tasks, and stay abreast of industry trends and advancements.

Job Duties may include:
  • Support the Business and Legal Affairs group in the areas of scripted television, film, labor and international.
  • Draft relevant correspondence and templates agreements related to development and production.
  • Revise, redline and proofread agreements.
  • Research and analyze various legal issues pertinent to studio development and production.
  • Assist legal team with production-related matters.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Attend weekly BA/Legal department meeting(s).
Requirements & Skills:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited law school program (preferably second or third year).
  • Course work related to contracts, copyright, and media law (helpful, but not required).
  • Interest in entertainment law, scripted television, film, labor, and international.
  • Strong academic record and legal research skills.
  • High degree of discretion regarding sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prior internship or work experience in a legal setting is a plus but not required.
A pivotal aspect of this internship is the candidate's dual interest in both the creative and business facets of the entertainment industry. Although the intern's primary role will be within our department, they will be encouraged to engage with various teams across the organization, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the industry's entire lifecycle. This internship involves participation and exposure to creative and administrative processes—from conducting research and analysis of industry trends to providing support across departments. The intern will also have the unique opportunity to shadow employees, gaining insights into different facets of the business.

As a capstone to their experience, the intern will also undertake an independent project, culminating in a presentation to company executives at the end of the summer.

Characteristics & Personality:
  • Proficient in clear oral and written communication, fostering collaboration across organizational levels, global offices, and worldwide time zones.
  • Entrepreneurially minded and thrives in fast-paced environments, adept at proactively navigating change and driving creative solutions.
  • Overcomes challenges with grit, embracing change as an opportunity for growth.
In addition to the competencies above, the ideal candidate will:
  • Embody FIFTH SEASON's commitment to fostering an inclusive, anti-racist, and feminist workplace. All candidates must have a proven track record of promoting and valuing diversity and inclusivity in previous roles, and a commitment to fostering these values in the workplace.
Application Instructions: If interested in the internship, please submit the items below.

Please apply with both your resume and cover letter (merged into one document). For the cover letter (1-2 pages long), please answer all three questions below.
  1. A key value at FIFTH SEASON is being comfortable with failure and having the willingness to take risks when you believe in something. Please describe an experience in your life when you failed or took a risk, and how the lessons you learned from that moment can help you succeed at FIFTH SEASON.
  1. What are you most passionate about in the entertainment industry? You can describe the moment you knew you wanted to pursue entertainment or tell us about a specific passion. Describe what steps you have taken to turn this passion into a career. In addition, what are you hoping to learn at FIFTH SEASON this summer?
