Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Associate or Senior Tax Associate to join our team. This role will support the tax department in managing compliance, reporting, and planning across our diverse portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in tax compliance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance:
    • Assist in the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for the firm and its portfolio companies.
    • Support the management of tax compliance calendars and ensure timely filing of all returns.
  • Tax Planning & Research:
    • Assist with tax planning strategies for acquisitions, divestitures, and restructurings.
    • Conduct research and analysis on various tax issues, including partnership taxation, investment structures, and tax implications of specific transactions.
    • Monitor and analyze new tax legislation and its potential impact on the firm and its investments.
  • Transaction Support:
    • Support tax due diligence and structuring for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
    • Assist in the preparation of tax models and projections for potential transactions.
    • Collaborate with external advisors and internal stakeholders to address tax-related issues in transactions.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Assist in the development and implementation of tax process improvements and best practices.
    • Leverage technology and automation to enhance efficiency in tax compliance and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • CPA or progress towards CPA designation is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in tax compliance and/or consulting, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
  • Experience with tax research tools
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
