• Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)\n
• Location: Lynchburg, Virginia 24501\n
• Healthcare Setting: Intermediate Care (CIMU) – Cardiac Stepdown Unit\n
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour night shifts\n
• Hours per Week: 36\n
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract\n
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/26/2026 – End: 4/27/2026)\n
• Start Dates: Every other Monday (next available: 1/26/2026)\n

\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in cardiac stepdown or intermediate care nursing\n
• Prior travel nurse experience required\n
• Active Virginia or Compact RN License (valid upon start)\n
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (current)\n
• Complete work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days\n
• Skills Checklist and copy of Nursys/license required at submission\n
• Submit all requested time off with application\n
• Cerner EMR experience preferred\n

\n\nCardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities\n

\n
• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients of varying acuity\n
• Operate and manage clinical equipment: vital signs machines, glucometers, SCDs, bladder scanners, vein finders, remote telemetry, wound vacs, IV pumps, pulse oximeters, chest tubes, tube feeding pumps, oxygen delivery devices\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a teaching hospital setting\n
• Support students and new hires; float to other nursing units as needed\n
• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)\n
• Promote a culture of learning and support within the cardiac stepdown unit\n
