We build cutting-edge digital tools for medics so they can save more lives. At Muru, we push the limits of technology to tackle one of the largest problems faced by EMS — making medical decisions from guidelines that are scattered throughout multiple PDFs, printed documents, agencies, and websites. By building the “Siri of Protocols,” medics can now get the answers they need instantly, so every patient receives the highest standard of care. Our clients range from the entire State of New York to the Department of Defense, reflecting the trust placed in our work at the highest levels. About the Role We’re seeking a UX/UI Designer who is driven to see their work make a tangible impact in saving lives—someone eager to design intuitive, accessible user experiences that directly support emergency medical professionals and improve patient outcomes. This is a part-time role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. Responsibilities Design user-centered interfaces for mobile workflows used by emergency medical professionals. Translate complex healthcare tasks into simple, elegant UI solutions. Collaborate with the team from initial concept through to the delivery of the final production design. Build upon and enhance our existing design framework to ensure a cohesive and scalable user experience. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align design with clinical and operational needs. Conduct a comprehensive VQA of the current app as well as ongoing VQA of any new features. Requirements 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design. Proven experience designing mobile apps, preferably in large-scale, design-driven SaaS organizations. Proficiency in tools like Figma, Zeplin, or similar. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Rate $100 - $120 hourly rate based on experience and qualifications. This position is offered as a 6-month independent contractor agreement, with the possibility of renewal or extension based on project needs, performance, and mutual agreement. Remote Work As an independent contractor, you’ll have the flexibility to work remotely. Individuals based in the New York City area may be invited to collaborate in person with our teams at our office located at 1 Liberty Street, depending on project needs and opportunities for onsite engagement.
