Warehouse Production Assistant$26/hourApprox. 2025 hrs/week---Hello!My name is Matt with Kingston Label Products in Vancouver, Washington. Im looking to hire someone to help with assembly and shipment of our products. This is a solo positionyoull be the only person working in our warehouse each day. Ill explain more below.JOB DUTIES- Assemble and ship cases of finished product to Amazon- Receive shipments of materials and supplies- Maintain cleanliness of warehouse (workstations, eating area, bathroom, etc.)- Communicate about issues that arise with our equipment, software, building management, etc.- Take occasional phone calls (a couple times per month) from delivery companies to schedule or confirm delivery appointments youll need to be comfortable taking these calls on your personal device while at workWHO WE AREWere a small company in Vancouver, Washington that manufactures blank labeling supplies used for industrial applications (safety compliance, equipment identification, etc.). We sell our products exclusively through Amazon and ship all of our products to their fulfillment centers.If youd like to see our products, heres our Amazon storefront: been in business since 2008. The company has gone through some changes over the last year and now consists of only myself, but Ill need someone to take care of daily tasks at the warehouse, since I now live out of state.Were located off NE Fourth Plain near the Golden Corral.JOB REQUIREMENTSWorking independently (literally): This is the only position in the warehouse, so youll be working alone 99% of the time. Reliability is criticalIll be counting on you to keep things running smoothly when Im not there.Lifting: 4050 lb boxes about 510 times a day, and moving pallets with a manual pallet jack about 510 times a month. Heavy lifting isnt frequent, but you need to be comfortable with it.Clean and organized habits: Sweeping, vacuuming, not leaving food out (fruit flies love us), keeping the bathroom and kitchen clean, etc. I keep the place very tidy and prefer someone with a similar mindset.Attention to detail: Wiping down boxes when they arrive, applying product labels straight, and keeping our manufacturing process consistent. Its light work, but I take pride in doing it carefully and professionally.Computers and electronics: We use Windows PCs, a couple of label printers, and some smart devices for monitoring things like water leaks and temperature. You dont need to be an expert, but you should be the kind of person who can figure out why a printer isnt connecting or troubleshoot a router without getting flustered.Communication: Keep me informed of equipment issues (computers, printers, pallet jack, etc.) and anything related to the building (door issues, water leaks, fire marshal visits, etc.). Im out of state, so these updates help me plan repairs and stay ahead of problems.Observant: Sometimes materials from suppliers can have small quality issuesif you spot anything that looks off, just give me a heads up before putting that material into production.BENEFITSPTO: 2 hours for every 40 hours workedSick leave: 1 hour for every 40 hours workedNo caps; unlimited carryoverHealthcare: Youll receive a healthcare allowance of $4/hour (around $400/month on average). This is provided as regular wages, so its taxable. As a very small business, this is the most practical way for me to help with healthcare costs without restricting your insurance options or affecting ACA eligibility.To put it simply: your total pay is $30/hour when you include the $26/hr base pay and the $4/hr healthcare allowance.Pay frequency: flexible (weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, or monthly).ADDITIONAL DETAILSIf youre still reading, thank you and please consider watching this short video showing what the bulk of your work would look like: will include a short 510 minute work sample.As I mention in the video, the next year will be an experiment to see how smoothly we can make this all run. Id prefer to keep the company in Vancouver long term, but that depends on how things go with this new setup.We produce and ship monthly, so hours are determined each month (usually around the 1st). Your schedule for the following month will be set well in advance. Hours may fluctuate 1015%, but Ill always aim to provide stability. Historically, weve grown about 10% per year.Scheduling flexibility: you can work a consistent MonFri schedule (e.g. 10 AM3 PM) or work longer days to finish earlier in the month. Im flexible as long as we cover deliveries and pickups.Security: The warehouse has doorbell cameras and one high-mounted indoor camera for general building security.Preferred start date: Monday, October 13th (flexible). Ill be in town until the 22nd to handle hiring and trainingtypically training takes 12 days, but Id like to have at least a week with you to make sure things are running smoothly.Please include a resume and a short cover letter.
