Position Overview The Senior Movement Relations Advisor manages the implementation of the American Red Cross's Movement Relations priorities. This includes advancing Movement governance, policy development, humanitarian diplomacy, and fostering collaboration across the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Key partners include the ICRC, IFRC, and National Societies. This role is crucial in building and maintaining strong relationships, advocating for Red Cross priorities within the Movement, and ensuring alignment with Movement principles. Responsibilities include strategic planning, joint activities, and representing the organization in Movement forums. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Program Leadership: Develop and implement Movement Relations initiatives, ensure alignment with policies and frameworks. Governance, Policy & Diplomacy: Negotiate agreements, coordinate with partners, contribute to Movement policy processes, and lead planning for Movement-wide meetings. Policy Development & Analysis: Contribute to internal policies, monitor global policy trends, and conduct research to inform advocacy. Stakeholder Engagement & Representation: Collaborate internally and represent the organization at international forums, prepare briefings, and support leadership. Operations & Compliance: Review reports, ensure compliance, share best practices, and oversee budget planning. Leadership & Team Development: Supervise staff and volunteers, set goals, and manage resources. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or higher in relevant fields preferred. Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in strategic advisory or project management. Proven ability to build relationships across organizations. Experience managing volunteers and cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills; multilingual abilities (Spanish, French, Arabic) preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power BI, and related tools. Ability to work across cultures and time zones. Additional Criteria Self-starter, diplomatic, detail-oriented, discreet, curious, resilient. Salary & Benefits Annual salary: $110,000 – $120,000.
