We are currently seeking resumes from qualified, responsible, self-sufficient, energetic Archaeological Monitor for our Phoenix, Arizona office. The ideal candidate will be motivated to develop and build their personal knowledge and skills to assist with the growth and success of the office. Job Description

Perform archaeological monitoring for AZTEC's Cultural Resources Group.

Duties:

  • Assist with archaeological monitoring and, possibly, data recovery
  • Apply standardized field methods and complete field forms thoroughly and accurately
  • Assist with lab tasks, as applicable
  • Communicate effectively and work closely with fellow employees, clients, contractors, and/or vendors

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, or closely related field
  • Completion of academic-sponsored field school or a minimum of 2 years of experience in CRM
  • Previous experience performing archaeological excavation
  • Ability to perform fieldwork in adverse conditions (rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures, arid environments, dense vegetation) and carry up to 25 pounds of equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel within or outside AZ for up to 80% of the year
  • Reliable transportation, good driving record
  • Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier
  • Experience collecting field data using ESRI software is preferred
